Tree Planting Sites in Atascadero

Heilmann Grove, planted 2007- 2008

From the intersection of El Camino Real and Curbaril, traveling east on Curbaril, after you cross the RR track turn right onto Garbada. The site is adjacent to the trail to the Salinas s River. Stop just before you reach Atascadero Public Works and the waste water treatment facility entrance. Please do not park under the large oak tree.

Portola Creek Reservations, planted 2008

The two sites are adjacent to the bridge on Portola Road – east and west sides. Portola intersects with Morro Rd/ Hwy 41.

Carmelita Creek Reservation, planted 2008

From the intersection of Morro Rd (Hwy 41) and El Camino Real drive west, about 2 miles, turn right (north) onto San Gabriel, travel .2 mile, turn left (west) on to Carmelita, drive about .2 mile. Carmelita ends. Park, follow the trail adjacent to the creek. The trail takes you to the Creek Reservation planting.

Alternate longer route – After turning right on San Gabriel drive about 1/2 mile, turn left onto Monita, drive .2 mile, turn right on Sierra Vista. Drive .1 mile, turn left on to Andrita. Andrita winds around and changes to Casanova. Casanova winds around and dead ends at Carmelita. You will be facing a large field. There is parking

Stadium Park/Pinal, planted 2009

Traveling east on Curbaril turn left on to Pinal. The road winds to the top and dead ends. All blue oak planting.

Traveling east on Capsitrano, turn right on Hospital Rd and drive toward the gate. There is a demonstration garden on the left near the entrance. This is Atascadero Land Preservation Society (ALPS) property. See supportalps.org
